Special festive cruise: 8 days full board, out and back from Morondava, sailing down the west coast to the legendary Assassins Bay and back up through the Vezo islands. A programme designed for the end-of-year holidays.
Detailed Itinerary
Morondava - Belo sur Mer - Departure from the Nofy Be Club House pontoon at Nosy Kely. Sailing along the baobab coast, lunch aboard. Late afternoon arrival at Belo sur Mer, visit to the famous traditional shipyard and dinner in the village.
Mite dune - Nosy Andriangory - Early departure for the Mite dune. Walk through the spectacular dunes, between the sea and the inland lakes lined with baobabs. Sail on to Nosy Andriangory, barbecue on the beach and night at anchor.
Nosy Andriamitaroka - Andevitra Bay - Sail to Nosy Andriamitaroka, the rat island. Swimming, snorkeling and a walk among the camps of the nomadic Vezo fishermen. Down to Andevitra bay at the end of the day.
Morombe - Andavadoaka - Morning call at Morombe, a small town with a western feel: a walk ashore and fresh provisioning. In the afternoon, sail to Andavadoaka and its limestone arch. Anchoring in the lagoon, dinner aboard.
Assassins Bay - Sail to the splendid Assassins Bay. Anchoring below the house of the legendary Pierrot. Paddle-boarding, walks around the bay and its mangrove. Evening around a campfire on the beach.
Assassins Bay - A full day exploring the bay. Surfing if the swell allows, snorkeling, meeting the Vezo villages. Relaxing and a last evening in this magical setting before heading back north.
North through the islands - Departure as soon as the tide permits. A long sail north pushed by the trade winds. Stop and snorkeling over the coral heads of the islets off Morombe. Night anchorage near Belo sur Mer.
Belo sur Mer - Morondava - Morning walk to the salt pans and the bottle baobab forest. Lunch aboard then the final sail to Morondava. Late afternoon arrival at the Nofy Be Club House pontoon.
