Migratory cruise, 10 to 20 November 2026: 10 days sailing down the wild west coast, from Majunga to Morondava, with the ascent of Besalampy's red river and the discovery of the Barren Islands. Special migration rate: 1000€ per person, full board.
Detailed Itinerary
Majunga - Nosy Makamby - Morning departure for 25 nautical miles (5 to 8h navigation), lunch aboard. Arrival at Nosy Makamby between 1pm and 4pm, swimming and island discovery. 7pm departure for overnight navigation to Soalala (35 miles).
Soalala Bay - Baly Bay National Park - Dawn arrival at Soalala, village visit and park access formalities. Discovery of the endemic Angonoka turtle's unique habitat, rare freshwater turtles and dugongs. Afternoon departure to Cap Saint-André (60 miles).
Cap Saint-André - Vilamatsa - Noon arrival at Vilamatsa, village visit. Walk along the endless white sand beach to the lighthouse. Breathtaking view of the turquoise northern and red southern waters meeting.
Besalampy - Maningosa River - 2am departure (35 miles). Entry into the Maningosa river estuary to ascend 25km into this stunning red river. Arrival at Besalampy, a small landlocked town of bright colours, accessible only by sea. Evening in the lively bars.
Free day in Besalampy - Free day ashore in this isolated town, discovering local life. Late afternoon departure as soon as the tide permits.
Maningosa River - Kingalahy - Descent of the red river, observing this isolated part of Madagascar: crocodiles, fishermen and scenes from another time. Navigation to Sarodrano or Kingalahy.
Kingalahy - Maintirano - Very early departure for the run to Maintirano (65 to 80 miles). A pause in this port town for a visit and fresh provisioning before tackling the Barren Islands.
Maintirano - Barren Islands - Departure according to the tides for Nosy Maroantaly, first of the Barren Islands. Snorkeling around the island, visit to the Vezo fishermen's camps and overnight anchorage.
Nosy Anabohazo - Nosy Dondosy - Morning departure for Nosy Anabohazo, snorkeling and a walk discovering the sea turtle nesting sites. Navigation to Nosy Dondosy for the night anchorage.
Vezo islands - Morondava - Discovery of the islands seasonally inhabited by the nomadic Vezo, superb snorkeling and spearfishing possible. Final passage to Morondava, arriving at the Nofy Be Club House pontoon.
