Cruise Mangily/Ifaty - Morondava

8 days of full-board cruise, with possibility to dive the coral barrier during the first 6 days (minimum 4 divers), and swell allowing surfing (surfboards can be rented in Mangily).

This itinerary is subject to weather conditions. (drinks, dives, and surfboard rental not included in price)

Day 1: Ifaty/Mangily

Transfer of your luggage aboard the boat from the beach opposite MANGILY SCUBA. After settling aboard, swimming, paddle-boarding, surfing when swell allows, snorkeling or discovery dive in Rose Massif, before hoisting sails in the afternoon for overnight navigation to Salary.

Day 2: Salary

Morning swimming, paddle-boarding, snorkeling and possibility of 2 dives. Lunch aboard before land walk discovering Vezo fishing villages. Return aboard for good dinner before ending evening "at Francesco's" animated by Mikea musicians group.

Day 3: Ambatomilo

Morning navigation to Ambatomilo with possibility of 2 dives en route, swimming, snorkeling and paddle-boarding on calm lagoon waters protected by coral barrier. Lunch aboard, followed by well-deserved siesta before climbing to conquer dunes overlooking the village. Dinner aboard before ending evening at Martine's. Night aboard anchored in lagoon shelter.

Day 4: Ambatomilo - Antsepoka – Assassins Bay

Morning navigation with possibility of 2 dives en route before arriving at splendid Assassins Bay.

Swell allowing, there's a beautiful surf break at bay entrance. Anchorage in bay under legendary Pierrot le Suisse's house. Paddle-boarding and bay walk. Dinner aboard before ending evening around campfire at Pierrot's. Possibility to sleep in his superb Lodge (not included in price).

Day 5: Assassins Bay - Andavadoaka

As soon as tide allows departure for Andavadoaka.

Possibility of one or two dives en route.

Afternoon arrival at Andavadoaka, visit of this incredible hospital for bush people and surrounding Vezo villagers, drink in village, dinner and sleeping aboard anchored in bay.

Day 6: Andavadoaka – Morombe

Morning navigation to Morombe with possibility of one or two last dives en route.

Walk in this small western town, provisioning and disembarkation of our dive instructor. Dinner aboard followed by outing to Eclipse, vibrant local disco open 7 nights a week, before embarking for overnight navigation to Nosy Andriamitaroka.

Day 7: Nosy Andriamitaroka

Snorkel, morning swimming, paddle-boarding and walk through nomadic Vezo fishermen camp settled on this islet with their whole family during fishing season from March to November.

Late morning departure for Mite Dune offshore which we'll anchor for dinghy landing at its foot. Dune climbing to enjoy breathtaking views of sea on one side and interior lakes and baobab forests on the other. Return to boat for good dinner aboard before leaving for overnight navigation to Belo-sur-Mer.

Day 8: Belo-sur-Mer - Morondava

Dawn arrival at Belo-sur-Mer. Bay anchorage where you can continue sleeping. Free day to bathe in the past visiting this temple of ancestral dhow construction methods.

Early afternoon departure. Pushed by western winds we'll arrive at Nofy be Club House pontoon in the evening.

For those wanting to dive, MANGILY SCUBA offers on this cruise a diving safari between Mangily-Ifaty and Morombe provided you are minimum 4 divers.

Anne Furr, PADI instructor, settled in Madagascar for several years will take you on 8 to 10 dives in 6 cruise days. All equipment, tanks, compressor, rescue material included are provided by MANGILY SCUBA.

Dives will be between 10 and 30 meters depth along coral barrier. This part of Mozambique Channel offers magnificent sites: drop-offs, canyons, patch reefs and drift dives in the passes.
