The History
It all began a little over 16 years ago, when several schooners, all sails out, made their majestic entrance into the bay of BELO/MER, temple of marine carpentry 65 km south of Morondava on the west coast of Madagascar.

Since then, NOFY BE cruises on the west coast of Madagascar have delighted everyone by threading along the coasts, with the charm of an old sailing rig, and the omnipresence of the precious woods that compose it, thus participating in the spirit of the circuits we offer, from anchorage to anchorage, in harmony with days and nights... Besides our provisions: Rice, vegetables, fruits, spices and others.... We barter with local populations, do underwater hunting and troll fishing every day to enhance meals, in a good-natured atmosphere.
There was no way when we started our shipyard to find the original plans of this traditional schooner. They had disappeared over time. Alexandre, at the time a young naval architect, was among the first passengers, he fell in love with NOFY BE and in exchange for low passage fees at the time, he offered to measure Nofy Be and draw the plans we needed to naturalize the boat with the Maritime Authorities of Madagascar.
